CCD: Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, is an association established in Rome in 1562 for the purpose of giving religious education. Its modern usage is a religious education program of the Roman Catholic Church, designed for children.

Our CCD program is for Kindergarten through Confirmation. The classes are in the Scanlan Building on Sunday mornings. 

First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion requires two consecutive years in CCD. First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is celebrated in the 3rd grade.

The Sacrament of Confirmation also requires two consecutive years in CCD. Confirmation is a two year program; usually 8th and 9th grade.

Our goal in CCD is to not only teach our children about our Catholic faith but how to live our faith in everyday life.

Our curriculum is Be My Disciples from RCL Benziger. This program uses a balanced approach (invite, teach, and challenge) to children’s catechesis. Be My Disciples helps children know and live their faith through loving service to others. Every week the children gather to:

Grow in Knowledge. Through the spiral structure, children are introduced to Scripture, Catholic Tradition, and the liturgical year, and reinforce and extend their knowledge year by year.

Connect Faith with Their Experience. Through a process of presentation, application, reflection and decision, children relate knowledge of the Catholic faith to their life experiences and commit themselves more deeply to the person and mission of Jesus Christ.

Practice the Skills of Discipleship. By learning the gifts and qualities of discipleship and practicing its habits and virtues, children learn the skills required to follow Jesus.
