The Knights of Columbus are a fraternity of Catholic men that were founded
in
New Haven,
Connecticut on
March 29, 1882, by Rev. Michael J. McGivney. This original
group has blossomed into an international society of over 1.7 million Catholic
men plus their families, who belong to over 11,000 Councils that are spread
throughout the Untied States, Canada,
Mexico, the
Philippines,
Puerto Rico,
Guatemala,
Panama,
Cuba,
Guam, the
Virgin Islands, the
Dominican
Republic, the
Bahamas, Taipan, and
Poland.
