Scrip Program
The Scrip Program is a national program where participating retailers sell Scrip to non-profit organizations in order to get people to patronize their businesses. It is a profitable ongoing fundraising program that increases revenue for our parish. "Scrip" is simply another name for "gift certificates." There is no difference between Scrip and actual cash. It is an alternative form of currency supplied by national retailers.
Saint George Catholic Church purchases the Scrip from the Scrip Advantage and local participating retailers at a discounted rate and then sells it to supporters at face value. NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU! The difference between the face value of the Scrip and the discounted price is fundraising revenue for our parish.
Scrip is used as cash for purchases in participating department stores, hardware and home repair centers, grocery stores, restaurants, specialty stores and sporting good stores, etc.
Albertson's Community Partners Program is a year-round fundraiser for our parish. You can join this program by obtaining a Preferred Card. You are required to renew your participation in the program annually.
Supporters present the card for scanning at checkout at the time of purchase. At the end of each quarter, all purchases made by cardholders are totaled and Albertson's issues a check to our parish for the contributions earned by our supporters for the quarter.
Scrip is available for purchase in the Scrip/Meeting Room located by the water fountains on Saturdays, before and after the 5:30pm Mass, and after the 9:00 and 11:00am Masses on Sundays. It is also available in the church office during office hours.
Volunteers are needed to sell Scrip before or after Mass. If you can help, please call the Scrip Coordinator
